Tonight feels like the eve of BMT

The day I dread has finally arrived. I'm only hoping my laptop will not be a laggy old model and it will be SUPER LIGHT (i uber hate carrying bulky items around). May there not be a mad rush during lunch hour and all periods be like holidaying off peaks! Ok I know that is virtually impossible but no harm wishing for it right???

This space may be even more neglected from now onwards, but I hope life will continue as per normal. Would very much like to juggle well between work, home, church and outdoors. And yes, the tall, smart, rich, handsome husband idea still lingers on and on and on......

Anyway, I actually sat through approximately an hour of the national day rally live telecast. So NS men are gonna get recognition awards (LOL), the IP will be extended to 7 more schools, NA students may in future opt for through train to Polys (my father was particularly concerned about that for yonghui), trains will soon come in 100sec intervals down from 150, we're gonna name the new MOE building extension after Dr Goh and well done, NTU will see a new medical school as a joint collaboration with Imperial College.

Side track, NTU orientation camps made it to the Sunday Times today. Apparently 3 freshies were sent to the hospital with one dislocated the shoulder, another getting dizzy spells from dehydration, and another I can't remember what happened. I caught the phrase "hell camp". GG lor, I guarantee the organising committees will see EVEN MORE RED TAPE for the coming years.

Since I've been part of an organising committee before, I must emphasise how stringent it already is to get SAO's approval for the games and accommodation etc. After this saga and with all the parents raising complaints (over the craziest things like "my daughter suffered from fever after playing in the rain"), next year tell all of them to just go for a welcome talk lah, or better still, conduct it in a big function room ok, with tables and chairs and everyone is very cultured so zero casualties.

Since the guy dislocated his arm while doing the slide down the canvas sheet with soy sauce and what nots, I assume this exciting game will be scrapped together with a long list of others.

Moral of the story: don't play the game where one guy freshie has to partner a girl and balance a watermelon on their backs k? Then no one will accidentally slip and fall, then everybody will be very happy.

Ok I'm getting very sleepy and moodless and caught in a moment of drudgery. Turning in! Say bye to late holiday nights, I'll miss you the most! :'(
